Conclusion - Module 2

 

This second module expanded my mind to be open to new tools because as a teacher, I will never stop learning. Education is always evolving and students’ perceptions and knowledge become more complex every day. So, it is important to evolve as teachers and lose the fear of exploring tools that facilitate not only teachers’ jobs but also students’ jobs. It does not mean that traditional methodology and tools are not effective since they are the basis of teaching and learning. However, we have experienced that in nowadays world technology has taken an important place in people’s lives, and that includes education. So, if we are looking to evolve as human beings it is necessary to focus on education. The influence I got from this second module was letting my creativity fly since at the beginning I was just adapting myself to this new world, but I think that now, I have the basis to continue pushing myself to improve as a teacher. I learned many important things during this module that changed my perception of Artificial Intelligence, and I feel very excited to continue exploring all the possibilities we have in teaching with AI. I think that AI deserves an opportunity to let it help us to discover and explore our skills. Even though AI still has some aspects to improve since it still commits mistakes, it accomplishes its role which is to provide people with tools that make their jobs easier. It does not mean that AI will do everything for us, but help us to do our activities more effectively. People must manage AI responsibly to avoid misunderstandings since AI has some biases and hallucinations. Finally, I think that it is a matter of time to start implementing AI at school since students are already using it, and to avoid inappropriate use of it, teachers have to be capacitated to use AI to become guides for students to take advantage of what AI can offer to improve their learning skills.
