Conclusion and Key Learnings
This module helped me to change my perception of what teaching is, and I discovered that as a teacher I will never stop learning and finding new ways to teach effectively because technology will always give me new tools to improve my English language teaching skills. It is necessary to be open to change or to improve the methodology to get better results since teaching is a huge field that needs to be explored to find innovation. Also, I learned that even thought practice does not make perfection, it makes improvement, and sometimes a new technique or methodology do not work at first. Nevertheless, I know that if I put all my interest and effort to make something work, it will work appropriately helping me to accomplish my objectives. The biggest influence I got from this first module was pushing me to my limits, and do not settle for outdated tools. I expanded my mind and I got excited about exploring new ways to help my students solve their needs and overcome their challenges. Moreover, this knowledge gained helped me to be more empathetic with students as well as with people in general. Lack of empathy is something that limit society to improve, and I considered that a big change starts from a classroom instilling values in students. In addition, I think there are many activities where I can apply what I have learned. For example, I can use a Large Language Model (Copilot) to create lesson plans when I do not have enough time to do it. I can also prepare interactive and catchy presentations to teach grammar structures using Gamma or Nearpod. Furthermore, I can use Design Thinking to find out students needs when having interviews without make them feel nervous or pushed to do things. Sometimes they just express that some topics are difficult because they do not comprehend certain elements or functions, and I discover their weak point just in a normal conversation. To sum up, even though I think that I tried to help them with their problems and needs before I started studying this module, I consider that I have more knowledge and preparation to make a better job empathizing with them and proposing better solutions for their problematic situations.
Absolutely Anderson! We realize that AI is important to improve teaching methodology. However, in the way you share your experience, I realize that you overcame your fears about AI, that is worthy of admiration since you entered a world where at first you had no idea what, but in the end it was all worth it.
ResponderEliminarHello Anderson, the way you have organized your blog is impressive and it is well designed. After reading, I realized how much you have learned in this first module. However, something that can transform your conclusion is to add a specific experience in which you have applied AI and what you have learned from it.
